New York’s Top Tourist Attractions

Geo and Atlas just LOVE their trips to the Big Apple and have summed up their favourite places to go when travelling around New York.

From the vast amount of shops and food outlets, to the beautiful parks and surroundings, New York is a fabulous city that really never sleeps…

It’s also one of the most popular tourist destinations, for visitors of all ages, interests and from all corners of the world. It can be a great place for a family holiday as it offers plenty of tourist attractions for all members of the family, including the little ones.

There are lots of top tourist attractions in New York that are famous, well known around the world and a must see when visiting this beautiful city to tick off your bucket list.

The Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty is a must see for visitors to New York, regardless of age. At a staggering 93 meters tall, this beautiful green lady can be spotted for miles and is an icon of New York. There are plenty of ways to see this amazing copper statue with lots of boat tours and ferries that take visitors to the island or out to the perfect photo spot on the river.

Times Square

One of the most photographed and well-known places in New York City, Times Square is the place to visit to feel the real buzz that everyone talks about. Full of people, street performers, characters, bright billboards that light up the square at night like it is daytime and of course plenty of shops. For families, there is plenty to see and do in Times Square. Once you have got over the sheer beauty, why not visit some of the shops visit including the M&M factory, Hershey Chocolate Store and the enormous Disney Shop.

Empire State Building

The Empire State Building is one of the most iconic buildings in this concentrate jungle. It is hard to miss at an astounding 381 meters tall. The building has an observatory level where visitors can get a lift to the 86th and 102nd floor to get breath-taking, unobstructed 360 views of New York; Atlas & Geo’s top tip is to pay the extra and head to the 102nd floor; you can capture beautiful views and memories and is definitely worth the extra few dollars.

Museums

To keep your little ones entertained, be sure to visit some of the museums throughout the city; they are ideal for tourists and can be the perfect place to escape the busy streets for a few hours whilst allowing your family to explore.

Check out the Children’s Museum of Manhattan, Brooklyn’s Children Museum and the famous American Museum of National History. The American Museum of National History is one of the largest museums in the world and has plenty for all members of your family to see and enjoy. From the earth and space tour (Atlas and Geo’s favourite) to giant dinosaurs, your children will be blown away with the things they will see at this museum. The hit film Night at the Museum was also filmed here and tours are available to see the characters, and exhibits featured in the film.

Share your thoughts and pics on your favourite places to visit and why.

Till next time; GJ x
